How does this change impact your FAQ pages & Schema?

Recently Google updated its content guidelines for the FAQ schema Which essentially means you are unable to markup the same question and answer across multiple pages on your site.

The search engine behemoth has instead recommended marking it up one page to avoid duplication.

The new guidelines

Google posted its new guidelines stating:

“If you have FAQ content that is repetitive on your site (meaning, the same question and answer appear on multiple pages on your site), mark up only one instance of that FAQ for your entire site.”

Importance of ensuring your FAQ Schema is up to standard

This type of schema is implemented by Google in order to provide a large number of FAQs on a certain topic in search results.

Placing this structure on your site helps Search display said FAQ’s directly and on Assistant.

FAQ Schema Mark Up

Ensure you have cleaned up your schema data so you dont get punished by Google’s constant algorithm changes  and keep with UX best practices.
